If you return to work after taking annual leave (reciprocal leave) or an absence, the leave period will not be counted with the previous leave period. However, if you take more than 7 days off due to personal illness within one year after returning from a leave of absence, it will be classified as a leave of absence, and the period will be combined with the previous leave of absence. However, the period of leave will not be counted for some personal illnesses, such as when a doctor's note is submitted for an infectious disease such as influenza or an illness accompanying pregnancy or childbirth(e.g., maternal and child health care note).
<Examples of cases in which leave periods are not totaled>
・When the leave falls under Article 33, Paragraph 1, Item 7, Isolation Leave
・When the employee submits a doctor's note for an infectious disease such as influenza
・When the employee submits a doctor's note (e.g., maternal and child health care note) for a disease accompanying pregnancy or childbirth
