The Company actively seeks to make positive contributions to the local communities and supports Employees to engage in social activities where they grow through broader experiences outside work and contribute to society (hereinafter referred to as “Social Studies”) as Employees of Shiseido Co., Ltd.
The Social Studies Day Scheme Policy (hereinafter referred to as “the Policy”) defines the rules and operating procedures for Employees choosing to take days off from work to engage in Social Studies activities.
“Social Studies Day Scheme” (hereinafter referred to as “the Scheme”) is the framework regulating the circumstances where Employees can be out of work to join approved social activities up to the defined maximum number of days in a year allowed under the Policy. Employees are deemed to have worked on days or hours spent on Social Studies activities outside the workplace (hereinafter referred to as “Social Studies Days Off”).
The Social Studies activities outlined below are the only types of activities deemed as approved under the Policy
1. Volunteer activities
2. Donor registration and donation including blood donation
3. Time spent for obtaining qualifications, skills, and knowledge that can be used for Social Studies activities
4. Engaging in activities with local communities
5. Researching or studying social issues
6. Other activities that are in line with the Policy and approved by the division manager
